High school, sex, bullying, drugs, and trying to find identities, being a teenager has its perks and disappointments. Alize found herself no exception, espoused into a world that is not her own, popularity gives her a bad name and wont save her. What will she do when faced with adversity and subdued partying in the streets and straying the halls of Hinesdale High? Can Alize keep up the persona or adapt to new friendships and environments? Only time will tell the path in which she will go.
About the Author
Shevon Turner born in Washington, DC and raised in Prince George’s County Maryland, is a wife, mother, creative, God-fearer, friend, and prayer warrior. She studied at Bowie State University and later received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Ashford University in Early Childhood Education. Shevon joined Judah Temple AMEZ when her daughter was just five years of age. Having a strong love for children, she began working with the Children’s ministry at her church in 2009 and began teaching God’s word through creative arts, like step, skits, and plays. She has honed her God given gift and uses it to enrich the children of our future.
Rather than writing about the popular interest, Shevon found it important to write to inspire, encourage, teach, strengthen, and empower youth and young adults around the world that they can be more than their surroundings. Shevon wanted to write a big play so that lives could be changed and began in 2010. It was not until recent years that she could finally see the vision God had given her come to light. Through the uncertainty of the pandemic, she decided to turn the play that took her so long to write into a book. Shevon is walking by faith and not by sight as she begins a new path as an author, publishing her first book, “Lifting Burdens Alize”.
